These were among the topics at last night’s Magnificent Leadership® Executive Forum where Brad Wilson, CEO Emeritus of BCBS of NC, joined us for an intimate conversation on leadership.

Brad talked about the principle of self-review, about true communication and “listening broadly,” and creating trust.

He discussed the importance of sustaining oneself and how he figured out his own way to unplug.

He used words like authenticity and vulnerability, honesty and transparency, integrity and character, and spoke about the moral obligation that leaders have to use their platform to accelerate solutions for social justice.

And he shared how he navigated one of the most difficult and demanding times of his career when things slid sideways and what he did to guide himself and Blue Cross through to the other side.

We all came away a bit better for the evening, reminded of what is possible when leadership and principle are one.
