There are two kinds of courage.

The courage of action, to move toward something.

And the courage of patience, to wait.

You can make the case that the second asks as much of us as the first.

Perhaps more.

We will likely not know the results of tomorrow’s election by the end of the night, owing to the pandemic and the mail-in ballots that need to be counted.  (See the front page of today’s Wall Street Journal.)

And it is you, business leaders across these United States, who can demonstrate — embody — what it means to be calm, compassionate, and resolute during a period of waiting and uncertainty.

Because patience is not partisan.

It is courage.
