And are well compensated for it, you risk wearing golden handcuffs.
Which, over time, become less golden and more handcuff.
If, on the other hand, you are good at what you do, are well compensated, are passionate about it and derive fulfillment and meaning, you’ve hit the trifecta.
Which is some of what I shared on Tuesday’s Big Work Webinar: Creating a Fantastic and Fulfilling Next Act.
For some of you, determining the passion and meaning piece is easy because you’ve known it since you were a kid, forestalled it for a financially rewarding career, and are now ready to take the leap into the next chapter.
But for very many of you, perhaps even most, it’s far more difficult to know exactly what’s calling. You may have a sense – something is tapping — but between the rigors of work and living, there’s not time or bandwidth to consider it, much less explore.
You, like most of my clients, are also likely quite talented and experienced, and the number of things you could do is almost limitless.
Which is not only confusing, but also obscures the path.
And that’s why it can be truly transformative to have a guide, a mentor/coach/sherpa who knows the whole journey – including its potential obstacles – and how you can tap into your own unique powers of navigation to see clearly and move confidently.
Better yet, if you’re in a room of peers who are taking that same journey, then you’ve tapped into the power of community.
And things go from being a bit daunting to really exciting.
There is a process for uncovering your path and creating the future you crave.
And on November 14+15 a group of no more than 7 senior executives are joining me for the Big Work Private Retreat at a luxurious 5-star property.
This exclusive program is by invitation or application only and there are only two remaining spots.
