Is not feigning modesty or pretending to know less than we do.
It’s not about dimming one’s accomplishments, shrinking.
Instead, it’s knowing how big and deep and wide things can be and how limited our understanding can be, as well.
I’ve written about this before, but it’s fresh today as I remember someone quite dear to me who passed away, someone who demonstrated what I see, over and over again, in great leaders: significant accomplishment without self-aggrandizement and a true learning disposition in one’s heart and mind.
