Well, almost.

I don’t know if you’re as surprised as I am to find yourself looking at June 1st, but it’s been a bit of a brisk year.

Stunningly fast, actually.

Which means it’s a great time to lift your head and evaluate where you are in relation to where you’re going.

Carve out 45 minutes for some strategic thinking time, and then consider the following:

  • Are your goals and strategic priorities still the same, or have they changed?
  • If they’ve changed or become contingent on other variables, what milestones, measures, deadlines, areas of focus, and people involved need to change, as well?
  • Have you adequately assessed and addressed those other variables?
  • If goals and priorities haven’t changed or been impacted, how are you and your organization doing against them?
  • If things aren’t where they need to be, have your accurately determined which levers will move the needle?
  • Lastly, do you have the right team in place to achieve the success you’ve outlined?

Even though we are approaching the half way point in the year, 7 months is an enormous amount of time to determine outcomes.

And summertime, with all the wonderful things it provides, can distract us from that.

But a check-in now affords us the opportunity to luxuriate in summer while accomplishing what we intend.
