Like you, I have felt horrified and handcuffed watching events unfold in Ukraine.

My charitable contributions have felt like such small effort in the face of such great violation and suffering.

Almost meaningless.

But then I heard Anderson Cooper reporting to Stephen Colbert from Ukraine as I watched a replay this evening.

Cooper said he’s there because of how important it is to bear witness, that people not die in silence.

And I was reminded of how big it is to see, to not turn away.

Donations do that.

We see.

We are with you.

Not enough and not sufficiently.

But we see.

Two links to charities: one from Colbert, and one from the NYT.
